Aranya Siriphon is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University, Northern Thailand. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication from Thammasat University and received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Social Science, Chiang Mai University. Her research interest is Chinese Influence and mobility in the Mekong region, Transnational migration studies, and transborder studies in Mainland Southeast Asia.

Current Research Projects: Impact of Chinese cross-border e-commerce to Thailand: Transnational Practices of Chinese Entrepreneurs residing in Chiang Mai Province, funded by National Research Council of Thailand.

(Co-researcher) New Transnational Chinese Migrants in the Era of Globalization, funded by Thailand Research Fund (TRF).
