Oh Soo-kyung
오수경 / 吳秀卿

Sookyung Oh is Professor, Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Hanyang University, Korea. She received her Ph.D in Chinese Literature (Theatre) from Seoul National University and teaches on the history of Chinese literature, Chinese performing arts and media culture, and Chinese folksongs as oral tradition. Her research interests include Chinese southern theatre, Chinese ritual theatre as oral and intangible cultural heritage, Chinese contemporary theatre, and the comparative study of East Asian theatre. She has published many books, papers, and translations. Professor Oh was formerly President of the Korean Society of Chinese Language and Literature, and The Korean Society of Chinese Theatre. She is currently Vice President of I.T.I. Korea, and a member of the Association of Korean Theatre Critics.
