Chen Tuo is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of History, Nankai University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chinese History from Fudan University. His main research interests lie in the Sino-Western interactions from the 16th to 19th centuries, history of Christianity in China, and book history. He is currently working on a book project, which explores the 19th-century reception and reinterpretation of old Western learning from the late Ming and early Qing periods.
