Tianhu Hao (Visiting Scholar, 2023-24) is author of Commonplace Reading and Writing in Early Modern England and Beyond (Routledge, 2023). Lee Soomi (Visiting Fellow, 2002-03) did a general project plan for the special exhibition “Wise and Unbiased: Royal Philosophy in Paintings and Calligraphy of the Joseon Dynasty” at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul. The exhibit will run from December 8, 2023 to March 10, 2024. It focuses on the utilization of the power of text and images by King Yeongjo and King Jeongjo as they worked to forge an impartial and harmonious society.
