Lương Thị Hồng is a research fellow at the Institute of History, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. Her specialized subject is the modern Vietnamese history with specific issues of the war in Vietnam, and the connection between Vietnam and other socialist countries during the Cold War. With extensive experience in utilizing primary archival materials and oral histories, her research explores the Vietnamese perspectives to reveal its intricate and multidisciplinary facets of the war in Vietnam. She recently expanded her interests to women and gender as categories of analysis to understand this conflict. During her time at Harvard-Yenching Institute, her work unearths new insights into the hidden morale of enlisting, fighting, and sustaining efforts among Vietnamese women during war time. Her work has appeared in Journal of Southeast Asian Research, and The International History Review, among other Vietnamese journals.
