Yao Yu

Yao Yu is a Professor of History at East China Normal University. He received his B.A. at Northwest University of China, M.A. at Peking University, and Ph.D. at the Hong Kong University. His research focuses on modern China after 1949, especially modern China’s economic relations with the world. He is the author of Declassified Intelligence Estimates Documents of United States on China (1948 -1976): Chinese Economy (2009). Yao Yu has received fellowships from the Fulbright Scholar Program (2013-14). The project that he is working on is to explore China’s natural rubber plantation and trade from a global view.
