AAS Annual Meeting Grant for HYI Alumni

Overview

Every year in the spring, the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) holds its annual four-day conference devoted to planned programs of scholarly papers, round table discussions and panel sessions on a wide range of issues in research and teaching, and on Asian affairs in general. The conference is one of the most important annual scholarly events in Asian Studies. As the Harvard-Yenching Institute’s (HYI) alumni, you are encouraged to attend the AAS Meeting. The HYI will host a reception at the Meeting, to which you are warmly welcome. The reception will be an excellent opportunity for meeting other scholars in your field as well as learning about new programs and opportunities at HYI.

The AAS-in-ASIA conferences are intended to be smaller size conferences than the typical AAS Annual Conferences.  This conference gives those who are unable to attend the Annual Conferences held in North America the opportunity to participate on panel sessions and network with colleagues in a more intimate setting. Each year, AAS-in-ASIA conferences are a joint production between the Association for Asian Studies and a local host university and committee. The HYI will host a reception at the AAS-in-Asia conference, to which you are warmly welcome.
