On October 26, 2008, the Institute invited all visting scholars, fellows and associates to a nice trip to the Plimouth Planatation in Plymouth, MA.
On October 10, 2008, scholars, fellows and associates of the Harvard-Yenching Institute attended a lunch time talk given by Professor Elizabeth J. Perry, Director of the Harvard-Yenching Institute, on her current research project. The talk is titled "Anyuan (Ã¥Â®â€°Ã¦ÂºÂ�): Mining China's Revolutionary Tradition".
On September 2, 2008, the Institute invited new visiting scholars, visiting fellows, associates and doctoral students to the annual welcoming lunch at the Harvard Faculty Club.
On September 1, 2008, the Institute held its annual "Labor Day Duck Tour". About 80 scholars, fellows and doctoral students affiliated with the Institute and their family members participated in this event. After the Duck Tour, a lobster luncheon was held at Legal Seafood in Copley Square.
