Regional Studies – East Asia (RSEA) Master’s Program & Harvard-Yenching Institute (HYI) Fellowship
This webinar is for students based at universities in Asia who would like to learn more about the RSEA A.M. degree program and the HYI fellowship for this program. In addition to those in East Asia, we welcome students from South/Southeast Asia who are interested in studying East Asia to join us.
Attendees should be in fields of the humanities or social sciences. The program and fellowship do not cover study in the sciences, engineering, finance, or business.
About RSEA
The RSEA A.M. Program at Harvard University is a vibrant interdisciplinary area studies master’s degree program designed to accommodate a wide range of interests and needs for graduate training in the languages, societies and cultures of East Asia.

The HYI Fellowship
HYI’s multi-year full fellowship covers the two-year master’s degree in Harvard’s RSEA program.
HYI Fellowship Eligibility
To be eligible for the HYI fellowship, you must be a citizen of an Asian country
Students should be committed to pursuing a Ph.D. as preparation for an academic career and planning to return to Asia to teach upon completion of their graduate studies.
Applicants who hold degrees (or are currently enrolled in degree programs) from English-medium universities outside of Asia are ineligible for the HYI fellowship.
