Monograph from NTU-HYI Academic Book Series Awarded 2019 ICAS Book Prize – Chinese Edition

The Institute is pleased to share that the fourth monograph in the NTU-HYI Academic Book Series has been awarded the 2019 ICAS Book Prize – Chinese Edition by the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS), Leiden, the Netherlands. The book, 從聖教到道教：馬華社會的節俗、信仰與文化 (Transforming “Sacred Religion” into Daoism: Festival, Belief, and Culture in the Chinese Society of Malaysia), is by Fong-mao Lee (李豐楙).

Another monograph in the NTU-HYI series, 從「尊明」到「奉清」：朝鮮王朝對清意識的嬗變，1627-1910 (From “Honoring the Ming” to “Submitting to the Qing”: The Transformation of  Chosŏn Korea’s Attitudes towards Qing China, 1627-1910), by Sun Weiguo (孫衛國), was also shortlisted for the 2019 ICAS Book Prize – Chinese Edition.

In addition, four books in the NTU-HYI series were recently selected to receive a book grant for the Humanities & Social Sciences Publications from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan (科技部補助出版人文及社會專書):
