Jeonghun Choi is interested in social and cultural history of modern Japan and Korea. He earned his double bachelor’s degrees in Western History and International Relations and master’s degree in International Relations from Seoul National University. He has published research articles including “Shibue Tamotsu and Yu Giljun on the Prussian Nation-building Process during the Seven Years War” [in Korean] and “Counter-reason of State in Kuga Katsunan’s discourses on Kinsei (Balance of Power)” [in Korean]. He is currently focusing on the rise of commercial publishing in modern Britain, America and East Asia and its impact on the intellectual transformations in Japan and Korea during the nineteenth and the twentieth century.
