Seokwon Kim is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at Yonsei University. He received his M.A. from Yonsei University with a thesis on Syngman Rhee, the first president of South Korea. He has co-authored four articles which have appeared in Korean Political Science Review, The Korean Journal of International Studies, and Korean Social Science Review, and co-translated Zbigniew Brzezinski’s Second Chance (2007) into Korean (2009). He was a Korea Foundation Junior Scholar at WWICS (Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars), and has lectured on the political history of Korea at Myongji University (2012) and Yonsei University (2013-2015) as an Instructor. His Ph. D. dissertation looks at anti-communism in South Korea in the context of a global ideological civil war among liberal democracy in crisis, fascism and communism in the 20th century.
