Madhurendra Jha is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chinese Studies, Doon University, India. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India on the works of the Chinese film director Jia Zhangke. He was a visiting fellow at the School of Arts, Peking University, China, for the academic year 2016-17. His areas of interest are Chinese language, literature and culture. Along with conducting his doctoral research, he is also involved in an India-China Translation Program and is eagerly awaiting the publication of his first Hindi translation under this program, Wang Shuo’s Looks Beautiful.
