Porranee Singpliam

Porranee Singpliam, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University (International Program), Thailand. She was awarded the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship to complete her postgraduate degrees in Japan where she earned both her MA in Cultural Studies (in 2015) and PhD (in 2018) also in Cultural Studies from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. Her research interests include postfeminist media studies, area studies, specifically issues in relation to genders, sexualities, and social inequalities. She will be conducting research on gender, politics, and neoliberal subjects amongst Thai women politicians during her stay at the Harvard-Yenching Institute.
