Seong-in Kim is a Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology at Seoul National University. Her research interests lie on body and disability, sense and sensation, affect, writing system, minority politics with attention to modern Korean society. Based on ethnographic research, her doctoral dissertation is about imagining temporality and sensual worlding in a special preschool for children with visual impairment in South Korea. During her stay at the Harvard-Yenching Institute, she will focus on the project called 느낌 (neukkim, sensation in Korean) in haptic sensation as mode of being, becoming, belonging with others which delves into the relation of touch and affect in terms of semiotic and communal accountability.
