Tanvi Negi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chinese Studies at Doon University where she has been teaching Chinese language, literature and culture since 2010. She completed her Bachelors and Masters from Jawaharlal Nehru University. In 2008, She was awarded a one-year scholarship by the Ministry of Human Resource Development to study at South East Normal University in Guangzhou, PRC. She is currently pursuing her PhD from the Centre for Chinese and South East Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her PhD topic is “The Past and the Punishments: Memory, History and Trauma in the Select works of Yu Hua”.  She is the recipient of 2023 ICS-HYI doctoral fellowship under which she was a visiting research scholar at East China Normal University in Shanghai, PRC from 2023-2024. She has participated in many National and International Seminars She has also translated a Chinese novel “骆驼祥子” (Rickshaw Boy by Lao She) from Chinese to Hindi (रिक्शावाला), published by National Book Trust in 2019. 

Her research interests include Chinese language and Culture, Teaching of Chinese as a Foreign Language, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Translation Studies and Memory Studies.
