ZHANG Jing serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Peking University and concurrently holds the position of Deputy Director at the Research Center for the History of the People’s Republic of China, Peking University. Equipped with a B.A. (2006) and Ph.D. (2011) in History, complemented by a Dual B.A. in Economics from Peking University, her research endeavors delve into the Cold War era, Sino-US political and scientific relations, and the history of foreign experts in China. Currently, Dr. Zhang is authoring her third book titled “A Modernization Leading to Revolution: Science, Technology, and Diplomacy in Mao’s China” under the Harvard-Yenching Institute (HYI). Parallel to this, she is embarking on another project centered around Brigid Temple Keogh, a prominent American expert who contributed significantly to China’s English education from 1978 to 2007. Dr. Zhang is eager to gather more insights into Keogh’s life experiences across America, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, and other locales where she taught, and anyone with knowledge of her is cordially invited to reach out.
