Chau Huy Hoa Ai obtained her B.A. in English Language Teaching from Ho Chi Minh City University of of Pedagogy (2009) and her M.A from the University of Melbourne (2011). She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Language Studies at the National University of Singapore. Her research interests include language ideology, language identity, and the multidisciplinary issues following the development of English as an international language in the context of the English language classroom in Vietnam. Her dissertation investigates the multiple language ideologies of Vietnamese teachers and students in the English language classroom and how these ideologies correlate and shape their language identities beyond the classroom boundary, thereby changing the way that people perceive the authority of English in Vietnamese society.
