Han Jaehyang graduated from Kyoto University Faculty of Economics in 1999, and received her PhD in Economics from The University of Tokyo Graduate School of Economics in 2007. She previously served as a specially appointed associate professor at the Tokyo University Graduate School of Economics before assuming her current position as an Associate Professor at Hokkaido University in 2012. Her publications include “An Economic History of Zainichi Korean Enterprises,” (Nagoya:The University of Nagoya Press, 2010), “The Automobile Industry,” in Takeda, H. (ed.) Japan’s Economy in the High Growth Period — The Conditions for Realizing High Economic Growth (Tokyo: Yuhikaku,2011), and “Korean ethnic group in Japan,” in Higuchi, N. (ed.) Ethnic Businesses in Japan (Kyoto: Sekaishisosha, 2012). Her research considers the framework relating to the economic activities of ethnic groups in Japan from the perspective of the histories and characteristics of typical industries and corporate activities.
