Dr. Liang studies Chinese intellectual history, especially early Confucianism.  He received both his M.A. and his Ph.D. in Intellectual history from Northwest University, China.  He did postdoctoral research and worked in the Institute of History, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences from 1998 to 2006, and has recently transferred to the Institute of Chinese Classics, Renmin University of China.  Now, he is an Associate Professor, and the Editor-in-Chief of Newsletter of Chinese Intellectual History.  Professor Liang is well known in studies of unearthed bamboo slips and early Confucianism, has published some high quality articles in this field.  His research at Harvard-Yenching Institute was entitled “Guodian Bamboo Texts and Si-Meng (思孟) School.”
