Liu Haiping, Professor of American Literature, Nanjing University, organized (from 1995 to 2008, in Nanjing and Suzhou) seven consecutive biennial conferences for Harvard-Yenching alumni in East Asia. The proceedings of these symposia cover a wide range of subjects in humanities and social sciences. Professor Liu’s academic interests lie in American literature, American theater, and China-US cultural relationships. He has published in China, the United States, Japan, and Britain and has served as a keynote speaker in Australia and Israel.
