Sorayut Aiem-UeaYut is a lecturer in Visual Culture at the Dept. of Media, Arts & Design at Chiang Mai University, and a doctoral candidate in Visual and Media Anthropology at Free University of Berlin, Germany. His interests include anthropology of arts, sensory politics, object-oriented ontology, and technological turn. He received his B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology from Chiang Mai University and Thammasat University with training as a photographer through his fieldwork among the people and objects in the deep south of Thailand and the Malay peninsula. His current research focuses on (in)visuality in Tamil immigrant laborers who live and work in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
