Sura Intamool is a lecturer in the English Department of the Faculty of Humanities at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He obtained his B.A. in English from Chiang Mai University, M.A in Comparative Literature from Chulalongkorn University and M.A. in Theatre from Miami University. His interests include academic training in the interdisciplinary field of four studies: Theatre, Literature, Gender and Cultural Studies. All his studies are rooted in the critique and analysis of textual analysis. At the moment, he is doing his Ph.D. in Theatre Studies, the Department of English Language and Literature, National University of Singapore, with support from the NUS-HYI Joint Doctoral Scholarship. His proposed Ph.D. dissertation topic is "Hegemonic Queering: Thai Traditional Lakhon Nok Performances as Gender Ideological Containment and Contestation," exploring Thai traditional Lakhon Nok performances, both written scripts and performances on stage, in the context of gender studies, particularly queer theory, and cultural studies.
