Wei Bin is a professor in the School of History at Wuhan University. From 1994 to 2004, he studied at Wuhan University and received his B.A. from the Department of Library Science (1998), and M.A. and Ph.D. from the Department of History (2001, 2004). Since then he has worked at Wuhan University as a teacher and researcher. From 2007- 2009, he studied and researched at Tokushima University in Japan. His doctoral thesis discussed the issue of general amnesty edicts and the political order in the late Tang period. In recent years, his research interests have focused on two areas: 1) Cultural landscapes changes of mountains in the Six Dynasties; 2) the regional history of Southern China during the Han-Jin period.
