Jing Zheng received her Ph.D. in Architecture from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2012. She is currently an Associate Professor of the Dept. of Architecture at Wuhan University, China. Her research is in the field of Chinese vernacular architecture, with specific focuses on the politics, social and cultural impulses. During her stay at HYI, she plans to conduct research on the interaction between Chinese vernacular fortresses and local militarization in late imperial China.
